Echo Trails

Who we are

Who we are

Echo trails Tourist and Travel Agency is based in Ishkashim and Kabul, Afghanistan. Echo trails works on two principles: We provide cost-efficient logistical support to mountaineers and travelers who independently travel to Afghanistan; and we have developed a number of great values, flexible trips that can be pre-booked prior to arriving in-country, or booked on arrival. These trips, and other tailor-made itineraries, are designed for those with limited time and budget who want to experience the true wilds of North East or the overall 5000+ years cultural heritage of Afghanistan – without the time and expense of organizing it themselves.
However, we have also been arranging private and high-profile armored tours where individual teams of friends or families have more control over their time and schedule.
Echo trails was formed in 2011. It grew out of a responsible tourism research project, looking at the impacts of tourism on communities and the environment of the Wakhan Corridor and 5 other provinces including Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Panjshir and Mazar e Sharif. The research clearly established that Wakhi and Kyrgyz communities in the region support the development of tourism and are keen to welcome responsible travelers to their unique culture and environment. The research also identified the challenges facing the travel industry in Afghanistan and Adventure Wakhan seeks to manage these to allow the industry to develop sustainably and equitably.
