Ishkashim is a wonderous heaven calmly sitting right at the edge of Northeastern Afghanistan where haranguing and blathers of war ends. This valley is said to the key of silk travel road as it connects North, Northeast and South parts of the old traditional road.
Ishkashim is home to multi-ethnic groups of Afghanistan and thus this makes it culturally vibrant and diverse. In its higher summer pastures lies a beautiful lake that has been home to generations of pilgrimage and holistic of the region called Hawze PanjPeeran. It is one of the only the few peaceful remaining cities in Badakhshan. The stunning valleys with old shrines, fortresses and traditional water mills make it one a kind tour destination in all Afghanistan. It is the door of the world infamous Wakhan Corridor and the stunning Shughnan districts.

Guesthouse (L, D)
A long 6 hours hiking takes us into the PanjPeeran lake. This afternoon we’ll picnic along the way and visit some of the indigenous people as we cross the villages. Later in the afternoon we will set camps for the night stay and light a fire by the lake to cook our cuisine.
Tent (B,L,D)
This morning, we’ll take our time to relax and those of you brave enough may join us for a chilling swim in the lake. PanjPeeran is perhaps one of Ishkashim’s most photogenic scenery. After Lunch we will head down to the villages and get back to the guest house for the Afghan hospitality.
Homestay (B,L,D)
This morning we will visit the women handicrafts center to get some souvenirs before heading back to Tajikistan. After that a short drive will take us to a sulfuric spring which has become a local tourist destination with small restaurant to offer a variety of the local foods in a hill side closed to the border.
By the Afternoon we will get back to the border to cross back into Tajikistan and say fare well to our Afghan tour guides and drivers.
